Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Candied Orange
Chocolate crinkle cookies are always a crowd-favourite, especially when they have a touch of candied orange. These crinkle cookies are the perfect cookie version of Terry's Chocolate Orange candy.

- 2¼ tbsp butter
- 1 cup dark chocolate pastilles or chopped dark chocolate
- 2 eggs
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- 1½ tsp vanilla
- 1⅔ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup candied orange peel diced
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch sea salt
- ¼ cup icing sugar
Melt butter and chocolate together in bain-marie or microwave. Mix thoroughly with wooden spoon and let cool.
Whisk eggs in bowl with brown sugar and vanilla until mixture lightens. Mix in melted chocolate-butter mixture, flour, candied orange peel, baking powder and salt. Let rest in fridge for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350℉
Take dough and form walnut-sized balls. Roll each ball in icing sugar.
Arrange balls on parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 11 minutes.
