If content creator Poppy O’Toole hadn’t followed the path of potato obsession, she may have gone for chicken wings. Wings in the air fryer makes sense because it’s efficient, there’s no mess and the results are just how you’d want your wings to turn out: flavourful on the outside and succulent on the inside.
Poppy O’Toole’s Foolproof Wing Sauces
Buffalo Hot Sauce
A simple yet effective classic. Combine half a bottle of (Frank’s) hot sauce with 1 tbsp of butter and 1 tsp liquid honey. Heat until melted together, then toss your wings in the sauce. Voila!
Sticky Sweet Soy Sauce
In saucepan, combine 2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp liquid honey, 1 tsp rice vinegar, 1 grated garlic clove, 1 tsp grated ginger and 1 tbsp ketchup and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, do a taste test and adjust as you fancy. Once you’re happy, toss the wings in.
Lemon and Black Pepper
In large bowl, combine zest of 1 lemon, 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper and 1 to 2 tbsp melted butter. Stir in lemon juice 1 tsp at a time until you’re happy with the sourness. Season with salt. Add wings and toss.
