Air-fryer expert Poppy O’Toole (@PoppyCooks) shares her method for crispy homemade French fries using just potatoes, vegetable oil and salt. They take about 25 minutes to cook, emerging golden and crisp on the outside and fluffy inside — without deep-frying.

Air Fryer French Fries
Ingredients
- 6–8 large potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet
- 2 tbsps vegetable oil
- 1 tsp fine salt
Instructions
- Peel and cut your potatoes into thin French Fries, about the length of your index finger.
- Heat the air fryer to 180°C/350°F.
- In a bowl, toss the potatoes, oil and salt and mix well, then put them into the air-fryer basket.
- Cook for 10 minutes, give them a mix and then return to the air fryer and cook for a further 15 minutes, until golden.
