Hotel SonoLux | Montreal, Canada
View this post on Instagram
After opening just in time for the 2025 holiday season, Montreal’s Hotel SonoLux is poised to make an even bigger impact in 2026. Part of Épik Collection, the 36-room property reimagines hospitality through an art-first lens—presenting itself not as a hotel with artworks, but as an immersive art hotel.
The hotel occupies a neoclassical architectural gem originally constructed by the National Trust Company and architect Kenneth Guscotte Rea in 1915. After sitting abandoned for nearly 30 years, the landmark has been reborn under Épik Collection’s vision as a dynamic intersection of hospitality and contemporary art.
Inside, 10 exhibition spaces are seamlessly integrated throughout the property alongside Lumi Restaurant and Subterra. Art animates every corner—from dining rooms to corridors en route to guest rooms – transforming the hotel into a living gallery that encourages curiosity, conversation and cultural patronage, while offering a distinctly new way to experience Montreal.
