This real lemonade recipe β courtesy of chef Donna Dooher of Mildred’s Temple Kitchen in Toronto β will take you back to your childhood lemonade stand. Make it sparkle with fizzy water if you like or spike it with some bourbon, βcause youβre all grown up.
Porch Swing Lemonade
A beyond-easy recipe for lemonade from Donna Dooher and Andrea Stewart.
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 5 cups cold water divided
- 1ΒΌ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
- mint sprigs
In a saucepan, bring sugar and 1 cup of water to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Let syrup cool completely.
In a pitcher, stir together remaining 4 cups cold water, syrup and lemon juice. Refrigerate until cold.
To serve, garnish with mint springs.
