Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Candied Orange

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Candied Orange

Chocolate crinkle cookies are always a crowd-favourite, especially when they have a touch of candied orange. These crinkle cookies are the perfect cookie version of Terry's Chocolate Orange candy.

Ingredients
  

  • tbsp butter
  • 1 cup dark chocolate pastilles or chopped dark chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • cup brown sugar
  • tsp vanilla
  • 1⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup candied orange peel diced
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • ¼ cup icing sugar

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter and chocolate together in bain-marie or microwave. Mix thoroughly with wooden spoon and let cool.
  • Whisk eggs in bowl with brown sugar and vanilla until mixture lightens. Mix in melted chocolate-butter mixture, flour, candied orange peel, baking powder and salt. Let rest in fridge for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Take dough and form walnut-sized balls. Roll each ball in icing sugar.
  • Arrange balls on parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 11 minutes.
