Lizzo’s Vegan BLT Salad

You don't need to be vegan – or a good cook – to make Lizzo's tasty VBLT salad.

“I’m lazy with it, so I’m throwing it into my food processor,” three-time Grammy winner Lizzo announces to her 22 million TikTok followers. Lizzo’s chopping onions for her Vegan BLT salad — her latest #saladtok. Lizzo’s casual cooking style and effervescent personality is infectious, and her easy-to-make VBLT salad is addictive (I know from experience).

Lizzo (who’s been vegan since 2020), regularly adapts recipes and swaps ingredients to create vegan versions. If you’re making this salad, just remember, the star uses the word “recipe” loosely. Some of what she cooks (like this green goddess salad) she makes according to the instructions, but with others like her vegan version of the TikTok famous feta pasta or her vegan chicken alfredo, she throws caution to the wind.

So let’s clarify; this #VBLT salad recipe isn’t really a recipe, but ingredients you can toss together à la Lizzo for a take on her delicious VBLT salad.

Another thing we love about Lizzo: when she turned 34 this April, she marked the occasion with a giant pop-up cake. Then followed up with her plant-based hangover breakfast, which features vegan bacon fried in maple syrup. Yummy.
